Ernest Bryll – b. 1935 in Warsaw. Polish poet, writer, lyricist, journalist, translator, film critic, diplomat, author of the Polish translation of Kahlil Gibran's poetic essays “The Prophet”. Graduated in Polish Studies at the University of Warsaw in 1956. His first book of poetry (“Wigilie wariata”) was published in 1958; and around 40 books of Bryll's poetry have been published to date. Author of numerous plays, oratorios, musicals and hundreds of song lyrics performed by many Polish artists. For many years, Bryll worked as a film critic and literary advisor to TV Theater and a number of film groups. In addition to his literary and media activity, he served as director of Polish Cultural Institute in London (197401978) and was the Polish Ambassador to Ireland (1991-1995).
Gary Tarn – b. 1962, British filmmaker, composer and musician, director of “Black Sun” (his debut film that won Tarn the main prize at CPH:DOX in Copenhagen and received a BAFTA nomination) and “The Prophet” – a film based on a cult collection of 26 poetic essays published in 1923 by Lebanese artist, writer and philosopher Kahlil Gibran
