A shroud of mystery surroundsCharlotte Rampling, a controversial figure that does away with social taboo to some, an icon of style and elegance to others. Undoubtedly Rampling is not only an international celebrity, but also an intrepid and unbending avant-garde artist.

Angelina Maccarone's film "Charlotte Rampling. The Look“, screened at world-class festivals such in Cannes, Stockholm and Hong Kong, has garnered enthusiastic reviews.

"Fascinating! Ms. Rampling is presented as an endlessly watchable mystery" - Stephen Holden, The New York Times

"The film is carried almost entirely by Charlotte Rampling's wit, intelligence and incredible screen presence"– The Hollywood Reporter

Before Rampling embarked on a film career, she was into modeling. Her screen debut came in 1965 and already a year later she played a lovehungry girl with an unwanted pregnancy in "Georgy Girl“. The role was a spring-board to her future successes.

In 1969 roku Rampling played the enigmatic Elisabeth Thallman in one of the greatest films in the history of cinema - Luchino Visconti's "The Damned". Five years later, she starred in one of the most controversial movies in her career – Liliana Cavani's "Night Porter”, which tells the story of a former concentration-camp inmate in a perverse relationship with a former SS-officer, who forces her to downgrading sexual behavior.

In subsequent years Rampling worked with some of the most prominent directors of world cinema, including Woody Allen, Sidney Lumet, Alan Parker and Patrice Chéreau. In the first decade of the 21st century she created memorable roles in „Under the Sand” and „Swimming Pool” in collaboration with French filmmaker François Ozon. Her role in „Swimming Pool” won Rampling the European Film Award in 2003. Her acting talent proved to be irresistible also to Lars von Trier, who cast her in his latest work „Melancholia”.

Despite her staggering success on the big screen, ever since childhood Rampling has dreamed of becoming a singer, a career her father deterred her from choosing. It was only in 2002 that she released her debut album Comme Une Femme, a collaborative work with Jean-Pierre Stora and Michel Rivgauche. In 2011, Rampling recorded her second album, Les Grains de Sable. In 2000, she received an Order of the British Empire and a year later the French Legion of Honor and an honorary Cesare.
