Afghanistan Now!

MAKSYMILIAN RIGAMONTI'S PHOTO EXHIBITION
MAY 6-15, MURANÓW CINEMA

Maksymilian Rigamonti
– war photographer, author of the photographs from the Afghanistan Now! exhibit, participant of the debate The Price of Peace? Polish Troops in Afghanistan. He spent 7 weeks with Polish soldiers in Afghanistan, photographing their everyday life: the terror of explosions and gunshots, the pleasures of sunbathing, joking and boredom. He had seen the war. From a completely different perspective.
In the summer of 2010, a comprehensive photo report from the time he spent in Afghanistan was published by Newsweek Polska.

Selected photos from the exhibition will be presented in the form of a slide show prior to the debate The Price of Peace? Polish Troops in Afghanistan.

I found myself among two thousand soldiers, none of whom I knew. "Hey, got something on you?” one guy asked me. And I immediately knew I would feature him in my photos. Soon after that, he introduced me to his buddies. They quickly forgot that instead of a Kalashnikov I carried a Canon.
