Synopsis

As the local medicine man in a jungle village in Cameroon, Mba Owona Pierre treats his patients against diseases of the night with traditional remedies and rituals, while reflecting on the necessary interdependency of contemporary and traditional medicines. Produced by Daria Esteva and Pere Portabella, an acclaimed Catalonian experimental filmmaker, and carefully constructed by Ricardo Iscar, this portrait of life and work in an Evozok village opens a window to its beauty and the complexity of relationships between traditional and contemporary realities.
